I think of this book as the "prequel" to Web Design in a Nutshell. Learning Web Design is for any person who is just getting started in web design—whether as a hobby or as the beginning of a new career.

In my experience teaching web design to hundreds of students, I found that many people had the same basic questions, and that they tended to get tripped up on the same concepts and skills. Using that experience, I have written Learning Web Design to address the particular needs of beginners.
