Americanexpress.com Web Style Guide
Client: Strategic Interactive Group (now Digitas),
Boston MA
The Web Style guide documents the thinking and strategy that
went into the redesign of americanexpress.com, provides an overview
of the site structure, and provides specifications for the creation
of graphics and HTML elements. It was used by American Express
Business Units as a reference for creating their respective areas
of the site.
My work on the project included:
- becoming intimately familiar with all facets of the site
- becoming familiar with the StoryServer content management
system, which was used by the Business Units to generate web
pages
- developing the table of contents (what the book should include)
- writing all copy (except HTML and Measurement) and producing
all graphics
- designing the book itself

Table of Contents:

2. Site Objectives
3. Design Principles
4. Site Organization
5. Templates and Components
6. Production Specifications
